somethings busted on the proxy. im working on getting it fixed. It might just be the heavy load…

Dreamhost got back to me and explained that some cockbites have been using my proxy to attack other websites so I’m going to have to password protect it.
Aditionaly, I’m going to record who’s doing what so that I can ensure that nobody’s abusing it, or at least catch em if somebody decides to. All this is going to take a few day’s, so please bear with me.

good news everyone!
I just wrote a lot of code for the proxy.
-It now has loging in enabled (you must be loged in to the site in order to use the proxy.),
-I found an error where encrypted sites caused literaly thousands of bad requests to be sent. I didn’t fix it (yet), but I did write a workaround. This may of been part of what my host was noticing.
-I added auto filtering, so if a site seems to be getting a spammed all of the sudden, it gets blocked automaticaly. I can unblock it later if I need to.
-if the majority of the spam hits were from one IP, it automaticaly blocks that IP as well.
-It records a list of the past 1000 hits, mostly for the auto filtering. At the rate it was getting used before, that list will be completely overwritten twice a day.
Things I want to add:
-An administration interface where I can view the list and block or unblock people and sites as necessary.
-Password protection for said interface.
-Automatic email to me whenever something gets blocked with an unblock link included.
-I also need to run everything by dreamhost and make sure they aprove before it goes live. If I don’t and they don’t like it, it’l be up for a day or so and disapear again.
